WK 13 – Artist Conversation- Laura Lopez

Artist: Laura Lopez

Exhibition: Selvatica (wild)

Media: Drawing, painting

Gallery: CSULB School of Art, SOA Galleries

This week I was really interested in Laura Lopez’s work. Lopez is an art student at CSULB who is trying to earn her degree in a Master of Fine Arts. Lopez said that she is interested in several different types of art. Along with painting, she is also involved in singing and dancing as she believes it is good for the body and the soul. In this exhibit, she says the art is really inspired by nature. In her exhibit, she created a visual representation of a forest and nature. She finds beauty in how life is created in a forest and how the earth can create beautiful things from almost nothing.
